A typical Render Clean in Swindon

So we had a regular customer that wanted their render to be cleaned. You can see in the image above that black algae patches have started to appear and spoil the appearance of this rendered wall.

When we approached this clean there were various things to consider. Because of the lead on the windows, the level of colonisation and the fact the customer was happy to wait for thre finished result, we went for a biocide application. With nature on our side we will hopefully be able to get a good finish on the render whilst using the safest chemical possible for the job.

During Render Cleaning

In this image – taken approximately 3 weeks after biocide application – you can begin to see the first signs of the black algae colonisation receding. The algae is dead and we are waiting for natural weathering to remove it from the wall.

Cleaned Render

In the final image taken around 10 weeks after the render clean you can see that natural weathering has removed the remaining colonisation and left us with clean render. The biocide that we applied will impart some residual protective efffects to help prevent any new colonisation, With a bi-annual maintenance clean we should be able to keep this render perpetually clean.
